Swinging: primarily, sexual activity among couples with people other than their partner. 

Swinger: couple (or single) who engages in sexual activity with other couples for pleasure/enjoyment, involving no emotional attachment.

Swing club: A private club that offers swinging activities such as regular swing dances, travel events, social events, house parties, etc.  Usually membership is required and there is a membership fee. It can be on-premise or off-premise.

On-premise swing club: a club where sexual activity and sexual penetration is allowed on site.

Off-premise swing club: a club where sexual penetration is not allowed on site.

Hard swing: A swing event where sexual activity occurs and participation is expected.

Soft swing: A swing event where there is sexual activity but participation is not required.

Open swinging: two couples swinging in the same room so that each couple or partner can view the other.

Closed swinging: two couples swinging in separate rooms, usually in the same house, so couples/partners cannot see each other swinging.

Hard swinging: participating in sexual intercourse with other swingers.

Soft swinging: participating in sexual foreplay (oral, touching, etc.) with other swingers but only having sexual intercourse with your partner.

Moresome/Group: More than a threesome.

Group room: Room set aside for group sex.

Slutwear/Partywear: clothes for swinging allowing easy access for sexual play, such as lingerie, body stockings, short, tight skirts/dresses, robes, sheer,  see-through or clingy clothing.
